Three volumes and Appendix (to Volume II), octavo (235 x 150 mm.), contemporary blue cloth neatly recased with some excellent repair to spines, blind panelled boards with central ornate blind feature to each, spines blind ruled with gilt titles. Each volume with half and full typographic titles, pp. xxviii [iv] 1-559, 556-597 with 16 plates and 3 maps (2 loose in pocket); xiv, (2), 694 [2] with 25 plates and 2 maps loose in pocket; xiv, 629, [609]-615 with 2 maps; Appendix viii, 352 with 6 plates and 2 maps loose in pocket; with 47 plates and 9 folding maps (6 loose) in total, the ribbons for extracting the charts still present in each case, volume 1 fold support to both loose maps, volume 2 fold support to Tierra del Fuego, volume 3 repair to binding tear and fold support, track chart in the appendix with fold support, bound with publishers adverts at the end of volume 3 which are often lacking and a loose advert for the work, otherwise in good condition.
