Very attractively coloured map of Russia. When Laurie and Whittle took over the business of Robert Sayer they updated his ‘General Atlas’ with many new maps and issued it as ‘A New Universal Atlas’. It is from this latter work that this map is from. It extends as far east as the Aleutian Islands. Derived from the cartography of the Imperial Academy in St. Petersburg. Shirley BL Atlases T.Lau 1a no. 37.
