An early road map pre-dating those of John Ogilby. These contain a triangular table of distances for each county and a map of the county in the lower corner. They were first published in 1635 for Matthew Simmons’ extremely rare ‘Direction for the English Traviller’. In 1643 Thomas Jenner published the work again having enlarged the ‘thumb nail’ maps as the ‘English Traviller’. Skelton 25.
