The Saddle Islands for part of the extensive range of islands offshore from Shanghai. They are now known as the Gouqi Islands and are extensively inhabited, indeed they are now joined by a bridge. The original survey is the work of Lieutenant M. Nolloth of the Royal Navy and was undertaken in 1842.
