A superb sea chart of the Algarve in Portugal with French text to the verso. This is the first printed chart of these waters and comes complete with a coastal profile at the top. Beautifully engraved by Jan van Deutecum it is published in Leiden by Plantin. The whole is ornately decorated with cartouches, a compass rose, ships and sea monsters.
