From ‘A Book of the Names of all the Parishes’ by Thomas Jenner. An early road atlas pre-dating those of John Ogilby. These contain a triangular table of distances for each county. They were first published in 1635 for Matthew Simmons’ extremely rare ‘Direction for the English Traviller’. In 1643 Thomas Jenner published the work again having enlarged the ‘thumb nail’ maps. This is an example of his map and tables for the county of Kent. Burgess Kent 14 st. 2; Skelton 25.
