The ‘Icones Piscium Austriae indigenorum’ by Baron Carl von Meidinger (1750-1820) is an extremely rare work. It was published in Vienna 1785-94. It contained just 50 engraved plates after drawings by the artist Assner. Only three complete examples have appeared on the market in London auctions since 1945. Nissen ZBI (1978) 2771.
