A fine detailed map of the Southwark area of south London with south at the top of the map. The Tower of London can be seen with London Bridge lower left and St. James’s Park lower right. Westminster bridge nearby is soon to be connected with an ‘Intended new Str.’ now called Great George Street. Newington prominently marked is the Elephant and Castle area. Upper right between the Turnpike and Spring Gardens is now the site of the Kennington Oval Cricket Ground.
