An extremely rare map of the county of Surrey. Following the success of similar magazines of the day ‘The Universal Museum, and Complete Magazine of Knowledge’ began publication in January 1762. It immediately issued maps and from 1764 a series of county maps engraved by John Gibson were included. Having mixed success only ten were ever published, the last being of the county of Surrey offered here in February 1769. Chubb 221 no. 11; Jolly II pp. 92-3, 245-50 UMUS 27; Hodson III p. 200.
