An uncommon sea chart of the north eastern portion of Ireland which was first published by William Mount and Thomas Page from at least 1729 in the ‘English Pilot First Part, Southern Navigation’. It extends along the east coast from the city of Dublin to Londonderry with north orientated to the right. The Mull’s of Galloway and ‘Cantyre’ in Scotland are also depicted. Belfast is also shown in detail with several soundings nearby. However it is Lough Foyle and Londonderry which is featured in the inset with an extensive network of soundings leading to the town. There are some hills depicted inland otherwise as might be expected there is no inland detail beyond coastal towns and harbours being named. NMM 423 no. 90; Shirley ‘Atlases in the BL’ M.M&P 1b no. 10.
