A very attractive title page from the French edition of ‘Le Grand Atlas’ by Joan Blaeu published in twelve volumes. A magnificent atlas. This section of England and Wales was first published in 1645. The English Royal coat of arms above is supported by the lion and Welsh dragon. A spirited Britannus figure below is supported by Romanus, Saxo, Danus, and Normannus figures.
