The Arrowsmith publishers were founded by Aaron Arrowsmith. His son John Arrowsmith’s most notable work was the ‘London Atlas of Universal Geography’. The familiy’s reputation for producing up to date and accurate charts is well known. This map of the Ionian Islands extending from Corfu to Zante bears a large inset of the islands of Malta. An inset lower left displays the trade routes from London to Alexandria for the crossing to the Red Sea. Phillips Atlases 789.
