A fine detailed large scale map of the Ganges River extending upriver to Delhi. Made by the Major James Rennel, the Surveyor General to the East India Company, it was published by Laurie and Whittle in their ‘New Universal Atlas’ of 1796. The partnership took over the business of Robert Sayer on his death in 1794. The ‘General Atlas’ published by Sayer was enlarged and published under this title. Gole no. 93; Shirley T.Lau 1a no. 45.
