A fine early detailed map of the Magellan Straits and Tierra Del Fuego. Various anchorage’s and hazards are shown in some detail. Tierra del Fuego is claimed for England being named ‘King Charles’s South Land’. Legends describe the island as ‘A rocky Mountainous Desolate Land’. A key lower right names several islands in the straight. This map comes from one of the rarest of Moll’s atlases; the ‘Atlas Geographicus: Or, A Compleat System of Geography’.
