A fine map engraved by Thomas Kitchin showing the region between Nantucket and the Connecticut River. Boston is just seen at the top and eastern Long Island is seen in some detail. It was published in the November 1778 issue of the ‘London Magazine’, a popular newspaper of the day. In 1778 the American Revolution was occupying many an Englishman’s mind and news of the events across the Atlantic regularly filled the pages of newspapers of the day. Jolly, D.C.
