This fine book on Swedish topography by Ulrik Thersner (1779-1828) is considered the greatest work on the country. The ‘Fordna och narvarande Sverige’ was published by Thersner who was Danish born. The work was continued following death by his daughter Ulrika. The plates were executed both in aquatint and later in lithography, here offered in the more desirable aquatint form.
